Sometimes, I feel our planet is living in the story of the Emperor's New Clothes. If you haven't read it, you should. It teaches a very serious lesson about pride, vanity, and self-deception. It's about an entire kingdom that ignores the self-evident for fear of judgment.
This is what I see with some people trying to convince us that certain behavior is acceptable when deep down inside we know it lacks moral character or promotes mental issues. They may use things like passive aggressiveness, subtle brow-beating, name calling, and guilt-tripping. They want us to see what they see, or do what they do, so they can ease their conscience. Our heart says no, but many lack the courage to speak out.
In this story, people were convinced that the Emperor's fabric was so fine that it was invisible to stupid people. Not wanting to be considered stupid, the kingdom allowed themselves to be duped by this power of suggestion. It took the innocence and honesty of a child to call them out on it; one who saw the king was naked and didn't fear saying so.
This is what I've been seeing with the PC mentality that's escalated over the years. It is very controlling people telling others not to be judgmental in order to scam, swindle, or convince us that their fantasy is factual. Learn from the moral of this fable. Don't let fear get in the way of challenging anyone, including corrupt authorities, who promote a collective "truth" that isn't.
