Age of Stupidity

I'm more like a physician when it comes to seeing density in our world and thinking what we need to do to correct it ... if possible. However, many times these dense collective thoughts we see may take time to change in order to have a better future. Also, when any future thought is discussed by anyone, including me, it's pure conjecture based on current analysis and projections ... because our future can change based on our changing emotions. 

 

Furthermore, based on the following blog content, I want to state up front: nothing is ever free ... someone somewhere pays something. Yes, even for others. It's a fallacy to believe otherwise.

 

Saying all the above, I feel it's time the world looks at contraception differently. It's not promoting promiscuous behavior but saving our planet. I believe it's not only very important, but it should be between a woman and her doctor, and it should be made available at a bare minimum or no cost ... in order to stop the heartaches created by this insanely-stupid mentality of people thinking they can do anything to anyone, with no repercussions to themselves or others. 

Not only to minimize unplanned births but to minimize abortions ... or stop them altogether ... something I feel everyone would agree upon. To me, it is more logical to have available birth control then to go through the more costly, mentally damaging, and very numerous abortions. As well as the stigma of "unwanted children" who may grow up knowing this and dealing with any mental issues because of it.

 

Apparently, promiscuous or not, millions of years of programming, when it comes to sex, has not changed anything. Yet, our ability to understand this critical situation and promote a healthier planet can. This takes a willingness to think outside of our programming. To not allow that option could bring this planet into more disastrous conditions. The conjecture of population leveling out would remain a fantasy.

 

We have had an ever increasing world population, based on scientific facts, that apparently abortions, wars, suicides, natural disasters, diseases, accidents and murders did not curtail. If this continues our energy and food sources will deplete faster. Overuse of our lands to provide energy and food for the world will take it's toll too. Among other things, the "dust bowl" of the 1930's was proof of that. Never assume what we have going for us today will stay that way. Nature has thwarted mankind many, many times. You don't want to become arrogant when it comes to the havoc nature can do to the flora and fauna used for worldwide food sources. Many times, during my life, I've heard how natural disasters, disease, and insect infestation have destroyed our food sources. 

Never ever assume.

 

Anyway, I digress.

It doesn't take a science genius to see that our lack of control, regarding sexual libido, creates this increasing population which forces other issues of starvation, diseases, warring, etc. I say increasing population because even with these situations that knock population down ... even with abortions ... it still doubled in size since the 1960's.

There are those who will want us to believe this mayhem will subside but it will take a lot of educating people to do so and not dummying down to facts. Some reports state that a few countries seem to be leveling out while other countries are increasing or decreasing in population. I say it's because of immigration. America may have less births, due to birth control and abortions, but some statistics states it remains neutral in growth. This may be due to immigration that takes people away from one population, which may be producing too much, and relocating them to another ... maybe due to some promised land mentality. Statistics also state educated countries seem to have a lower population. Again, immigration may be the reason countries like America are not lowering in numbers but remaining the same. Relocation to solve one crisis somewhere and creating another crisis somewhere else is not solving anything. By now, after hundreds of years of shifting populations, via immigration, we are apparently still expanding in the world population. 

There's no logic in saying it's leveling out, if it isn't the case. 

To continue, one of the main objectives to this blog is to state that we have to stop putting the cart before the horse. Why are we waiting to kill a fetus, which many find disturbing, instead of preventing it from occurring? Whatever reason an abortion occurs, whether that be for the mental or physical health of the mother or something seen of the fetus through lab testing, the numbers worldwide are outrageous. Yet, the situations that may occur without them could bring about more serious consequences. 

 

I saw a meme recently that stated that 66,000 USA abortions occur every two weeks. If this is true, and they were actually birthed into the world, this would increase our population in America by around 1,716,000 of more births annually ... on top of what is already being born. This isn't counting the number of abortions elsewhere which, if discontinued due to some morality code, would also escalate world population.

 

More births, that are possibly unwanted or unhealthy, that would be entering into the world for others to see to their needs. Possibly free for the mother/parents because of their poverty status. But, as I said earlier, nothing's free. Someone somewhere is paying via their taxes, donations, time, etc. We can pay now or pay later, but we will pay. It's only logical to me that the price of planned parenting is less costly then what would follow without it.

 

It's also difficult to look at reports of declining abortions only because the moral guilt trip, which so many are being placed under, may be increasing birth rates at the same time. We're not solving anything when we stop one problem but still keep creating another.

 

Forewarned is forearmed.

 

People are being duped into thinking they are paying for another's problem if we pay for contraceptives through insurance or other means. As I've already mentioned, and will strongly reiterate, we are all paying, and have always paid, for another's problem. Sooner or later. Directly or indirectly. This is nothing new. If anyone takes time to think this through, they will understand this has always been true. That fact isn't changing.

 

Just as we understand that sex, and the desire for it, isn't changing. It's a vital part of life. All we can do is continue to keep an eye on the statistics and hope that an increased level of intelligence sees us through what could be a potential problem in our future. However, being the realist that I am, and knowing history as I do, I would have to say that until people start putting their common sense back above their waistline, we could be promoting a different future than some would have us believe. Yes, there are websites that say we're worrying too much about overpopulation, yet that could have created a flaw in our sysyem ... changed a flow back to bad that was good ... giving people a feeling of carelessness or false security. 

So, after being advised by guidance to write this blog, I figured they must be "seeing" something or why bother. I sensed a lot had to do with the recent Hobby Lobby ruling. Things like that can create a major flow that isn't seen as an overall best, and I hope the judges rethink their ruling. 

Lastly, I had to rewrite this a few times to keep it in a blog format. I was beginning to think it was becoming a book because of the amount of data I was being given. Hopefully, I kept it short enough and the point was made. I realize that everything depends on the path we choose to follow. So far, with what I've been hearing and seeing, especially with abortion statistics, limited interest in preventative pregnancies, uneducated internet comments, and the lack of common sense which includes the recent Hobby Lobby ruling, we could be looked back on as the Age of Stupidity. 

A time when we didn't understand or gain from experience. 

A time where big egos manipulated facts. 

A time where common sense repeatedly failed in many age groups. 

It's not a judgment ... just an observation.
