Where There's a Will - There's a Way!

By now, most know that saying: where there's a will there's a way. People will do what they can, especially if the need is vital. Desperate people do desperate things. History has shown us this often. Think about this, we have laws against buying street drugs but people still buy them. When booze was illegal, people found a way to buy it. So, please tell me why anyone would think stricter gun laws will stop people from buying guns and doing bad things with them.

The state known for the strictest gun laws is California. Has gun control in California stopped anything?  Wikipedia: "Since 1989, it is illegal to sell a firearm that the state has defined as an assault weapon and that has been listed in the California Department of Justice (DOJ) roster of prohibited firearms. This includes many military look-alike semi-automatic rifles and .50 caliber BMG rifles."

People can buy guns on the black market, from the back of someone's vehicle, or kill someone to get one. The country of Venezuela discovered this (it's old news) after they enforced strict gun laws. People were killing cops to get their guns. It didn't work in Venezuela and most likely not in other countries. Also, with the freedom our country professes to have here ... it won't work here either.

Good people don't need laws and bad people won't obey them. Guess who will have the guns? Think Mexico and the cartel as one example. In fact, think about the material that can make a bomb if a gun isn't available. Will we ban those items too? Again, where there's a will, there's a way.

Deep down inside we all know this is true. So, can we move on with this gun control rhetoric and develop a better plan? For instance, finding and stopping the will. Then the "way" will be immaterial.
