Chicken Hormones? Jumping on the Rumor Bandwagon?

Rumors run rampant but aren't always the truth.

Some things that may have even been true in the past, but were corrected/amended/discontinued, are still running rampant throughout the Internet as being true today ... because people prefer to be rumor mongers instead of verifying everything they read. I have seen where pictures have been modified and people believe what they see is real because they have lost their "truth radar" to other's power of suggestion ... or they are immature, with no common sense, and think it's just being funny to promote injustice.

In my day, they were also called gullible, today's terminology is sheeple. Who is really being gullible, because I have seen finger pointers with gullibility written all over them? As the saying goes, there are three fingers pointing back.

"They will deceive the very elect." If you are into looking things up, consider looking up that Bible verse.

Now on to the subject of this blog.

Apparently, the rumor mill is all about chickens being fed hormones, yet, based on this report with USDA, this doesn't seem to be the case. From this, it would appear that anyone adding anything more then this report states, they would be considered doing things illegally (not to say people don't do things illegally).

However, I have seen in the past that 1000 people can do things right, yet one person will bring the entire system down due to illegalities, false rumors or deliberate lies for self gain.

From USDA: "No hormones are used in the raising of chickens. Antibiotics may be used to prevent disease and increase feed efficiency. Before the bird can be slaughtered, a "withdrawal" period is required from the time antibiotics are administered. This ensures that no residues are present in the bird's system. FSIS randomly samples poultry at slaughter and tests for residues. Data from this monitoring program have shown a very low percentage of residue violations. Additives are not allowed on fresh chicken. However, if chicken is processed, additives such as MSG, salt, or sodium erythorbate may be added but must be listed on the label."

This report is very informational about other areas concerning chicken too.

I will state clearly, that I am not happy about the care of said chickens, but I can understand the reasons behind why some things are done ... one of them is the ever increasing population on our planet and the concern for more weapons as opposed to better worldwide conditions. It's like, putting the cart before the horse. That never made sense to be as a child and still doesn't make sense to me as an adult. Why we continue to do things like this is still a mystery to me.

What gets me is there are those that feel they are justified to charge more for what is not added. All those "additives" could cost lots of money to a farmer or rancher. If  nothing is added why charge more for it? It's organic and grown naturally, then I should pay more because they proudly announce no additives? Why? Because you can and get away with it? What's the real issue here? Make a big deal out of hormones being added, when it's not, just so they can say: hey, look at me, I'm doing right by you and I'm going to charge you more because of it. Can anyone say gullible!? That's like adding lead to gasoline, finding out it's not a good idea, removing the lead and then deciding to charge me more for unleaded gas. Huh!? Oh yes they sure did! That is a fact that my ex-husband was furious about a long time ago. One wonders who comes up with these ideas to sucker us into the "gullibility trap."

Anyway, to continue, if paranoia is anyone's game, become more psychic and be included in a group of other well established psychics. Be careful, because even psychics can be blocked. That's why I suggest that everyone do their own research, especially if it is important enough. Keep your "truth radar" honed to avoid perpetrating non-truths just to promote self important or whatever it is anyone feels is being accomplished by spreading false rumors. Don't forget that witches were burned at the stake, among other things that were abominable, due to false rumors in our world's history. Isn't it time for our brains to become more enlightened and less paranoid?

If we don't like what's being done, we should start a petition and present it to someone that can get a bill passed, but do the homework first. Remember, heresy is not permissible in a court of law. Be accountable, if we want someone to listen to what we have to say.

Be a legitimate eye witness or be quiet, because we could inadvertently be interfering in the truth. Also, by being quiet we may just hear what others have to say. Add it up. Are these people spreading rumors due to their own greed and wealth or do they really have our health as a top priority?

Even the "government" has family and friends. Can they protect all of them with an out of control scenario? I doubt it. Wouldn't we think they were smart enough to figure this out? Why not? Others obviously did.

The problem with calling others sheeple is that it could lead others into being one themselves, by being caught in the web (flow) of false rumors. As you sow, so shall ye reap? Karma?

Don't jump on the rumor bandwagon.

As Lady Kluck might say ... mustn't rumor. :)

  1. It seems that people doing this research for organic foods - only research in that baised field. They won't even consider it from the source because apparently it's all a lie.

I think there's some sort of psychotic problem amongst conspiracy theorist group - and they have my pity.

  2. After reading about the high levels of arsenic in our soils, organic or not, we have a problem that can effect anyone regardless of what they eat. By running rampant they lose control of a bigger picture. Especially charging more for something that can still be dangerous to eat just because it has organic whatever on it. It's whitewashing the real truth and it will backfire on people.
